Bia! is a zine that:

  • explores the political, emotional and physical reality of migration in Global Majority* communities in Ireland

  • documents the commonality between immigrant and diasporic communities

  • counterbalances mainstream food narratives

  • celebrates how immigrants and diasporas assert their presence in Ireland through food

* Global majority refers to people who are African, Asian, Latin American, of mixed-heritage, Indigenous to the Global South or have been racialised as 'ethnic minorities’.

Bia! is an archive of:

  • our culinary histories, heritage, lived experiences and collective hopes

Bia! is a co-created space where we can:

  • excavate our memories

  • have cross-cultural and intergenerational dialogue

  • radically reimagine the cultural and culinary landscape of Ireland
